Why most drivers are so obsessed with speeding?

I'm sort of a relaxed driver while on the road.I enjoy driving long distance like going out of town or going for a drive through the countryside and enjoy the beautiful scenery.I don't see what's the fun of speeding all the time like most drivers do if you're just going for a drive in your car.when you drive at a steady speed all the time,you're not only saving gas,but also avoiding an accident or speeding ticket.
