Will i get an ultrasound at my first ob appointment?

Is it common to get an ultrasound at the first dr appointment? With my first pregnancy I actually had one at my first appointment @6 weeks then again at 12weeks. The difference is that I am now on medicaid and I heard they only cover a couple ultrasounds unless something is suspected to be wrong. I was just wondering how many you ladies had and if you had one on your first appointment with pregnancy medicaid
