Would you survive a zombie takeover? why?

I'd like to think that I would but am not so sure. If I were in a group I would probably be the weakest link and jeopardize the whole team. Then the group of survivors would kick me out and I'd die alone. If I wasn't the weakest link and were an asset and not a liability, I'd gather weapons and supplies and go somewhere with a high altitude. My theory is zombies can't survive high altitudes or cold weather. I would then wait for them to die out. They have to decompose at some point. Best case scenario, I'd wait for all the zombies to die and come out when it's safe.
