Friend In Joplin MO needs help?

So my friend is 20 and has a 8 month old son. They were in Joplin when the tornado hit but they were in a bad spot before all that happen. Pretty much her dude hits her, she has very little money, and no family to help her. She would like to come live in Denver, Co. but how would she go about finding a job or getting government assistance (food stamps, medicaid, housing). Of course I would try to help but I cna only do so much. What can we look up or try and do so she can move to a different state and get help? How would she go about applying for jobs here before she got here? Thank You
